Position: Behavior Support Specialist
Focus: Teen summer program
Reports to: Executive Director
Capacity: Full-time hours: June 9th to 13th, June 16th to 20th, June 23rd to 27th from 8:30am to 4:30pm

Description: Behavior Support Specialist will support the Teen Program Coordinator, summer staff and participants during the program. This position will provide behavior support to teens with autism attending the summer teen program.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Participate onsite and community outings by providing direct behavior support for staff and participants during summer program
- Providing behavior support techniques when needed
- Ensuring all participants are treated with a high level of dignity and respect while modeling this behavior as staff
- Assisting participants and summer staff during group activities, community outings, etc.
- Communicating with parents about participants participation throughout the day
- Be proactive and willing to assist Teen Program Coordinator
- Ensuring the safety of all participants and staff throughout the program
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
21 years of age or older
Valid Indiana Driver’s License
Minimum 3 to 5 years of behavior support experience
Reliable transportation
Ability to lead, and implement program
Ability to effectively interact with individuals with special needs
Able to provide support for individuals who could display behavioral difficulties or challenges
Ability to multi-task and exhibit good judgement
Strong organizational and communication skills
Works well in a team environment
Basic computer skills
